Created in 2009. 190 miles long, 4+ hours duration. The first hour is a sweeping cruise though middle Ohio as we make our way to SR 555. The next 90 minutes is hard and demanding as we take SR 555 down to the OHIO River, where we
make our turn and head north up the very scenic SR 83 for the next 90 minutes. The last hour (at the Road Captain's choice) will either be the eastern half of the Short Run or
a different abbreviated version over cruising roads back to Canton.
This run is rated as B- because the only serious driving is on SR 555. Intensity factor of 5.

Amish Scavenger Hunt - dodge the Amish road apples
 | This run will be open for self-guided driving on all days, (Wed thru Sat) , or as part of the Scavenger Hunt/Poker run on Saturday.
Leaving Canton you will travel south 15 minutes on I-77 to SR 39 and from there go westbound to Amish towns such as Sugar Creek, Walnut Creek, Berlin and Millersburg. There will be plenty of places to stop, shop and eat. At Millersburg you will have a choice: head north on SR83 to Wooster and from there back to Canton on US30. (the shorter version) or continue west on SR39 to Loudenville (a very pretty drive) and then take SR3 (NE) back to Wooster, pick up US30 and return to Canton.
You set your own pace, form your own group and go have fun. Take as long as you want. This run will be rated a C for the pleasure factor and has an intensity factor of 2 (only because you must be on the lookout for Amish buggies and local traffic). |
